Nintendo and Gamestation host a pre-festival Game Session to celebrate the start of EIF 08! July 22nd 2008

imageTo mark the start of the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, Nintendo have teamed up with Gamestation for a pre-festival launch game session.

You are invited to join Mario and friends in store on the Saturday 9th August from 10am – 5pm to take the MarioKart Challenge on Nintendo Wii. The person with the fastest race time will win a copy of MarioKart Wii

Gamers are also invited to join the party in fancy dress. Come along on Saturday as your favourite Nintendo character to be in with a chance to win other great prizes!

You can also pick up your free tickets and Official Guide for the Edinburgh Interactive Festival in-store during the game sessions.

The sixth Annual Edinburgh Interactive Festival is taking place this year at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre from Sunday 10th until Tuesday 12th August 2008, and you are invited!

The Edinburgh Interactive Festival 2008, the world’s most important festival that seeks to expand the creative culture of games and interactive entertainment, is now open for registration.

EIF 2008 will take place from Sunday 10th to Tuesday 12th August, and will this year move to the Edinburgh International Conference Centre as part of a move to develop the scale and profile of the event which this year includes a number of new initiatives and changes from previous years.

2008 will feature a major two-day conference programme, an array of networking events, an expansion of the EIF Games Screenings programme covering three cinema rooms, a major public area with gaming features, retail and recruitment sites. Dare ProtoPlay, the public showcase event of Dare to be Digital, UK’s premier video games design competition, will also take place under the same roof as the Edinburgh Interactive Festival and will run from Sunday 10th to Tuesday 12th August alongside the public areas and Games Screenings.
